Westwood takes its name from Peter’s two greatest passion – Western Australia and the Collingwood Football Club.

Peter wants to live a life with purpose. He wants to inspire and be inspired by the people around him. He imagines a World where people wake up every morning and be inspired, feel safe wherever they may be, and at the end of the day be fulfilled by the work that they do.
Peter hopes that he was played some part in helping to advance towards that vision and he has dedicated his life and his career to doing it.
Peter is an award winning senior legal practitioner within the West Australian legal fraternity.
Peter has over 25 years of legal experience, working in private practice, in house and for local government.
In private practice, Peter has worked for national, international and top-tier law firms.
Peter is a trusted advisor to many companies, not for profit organisations, charitable and sporting organisations.
Peter also sits on various Boards, providing stewardship in legal, governance, risk, and compliance.

Peter’s Board positions have included:

  • Inaugural President of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association Inc (WA Branch), an organisation that promotes cultural diversity and inclusion in the legal profession
  • Founder and Chair of the Lawyers in Local Government (LLG) Network, a network that provides support and collegiality for lawyers currently working at a local government
  • Chair of City West Lotteries House, an organisation that provides affordable office space to not-for-profit organisations
  • Founder and Chair of the Asia Business Council of WA Inc – a council of all Asian business councils in WA
  • Board member of CarersWA, the peak body representing carers in WA
  • Board member of Phoenix Support and Advocacy Services Inc, which provides support and counselling to those that have been abused as a child
  • Committee member and legal advisor to Project Humanity Australia Inc, its goal is to provide disadvantaged children the opportunity to learn basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Founding committee member and legal advisor to the National Australia-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • Involved in a soccer and social club called Westnam United for over 30 years including as past president and secretary. The Club has a focus on diaspora communities in the area.
  • Vice President of WA Vietnam Business Council Inc.
  • Board Member of Centacare Employment and Training (an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese) provides affordable education and training to underprivileged to help them return to gainful employment
  • Vice President of Western Australia Vietnam Business Council Inc – promotes bilateral trade and investment between WA and Vietnam
  • Past President of the Vietnamese Community in Western Australia – the peak body that represents about 60,000 Vietnamese Australians living in WA

Peter has been recognised for his work by being:

  • The winner of the Piddington Society’s Senior Lawyer of the Year Award 2019
  • The winner of the Law Society of WA’s Lawyer of the Year Award 2021
